Our MC (master of ceremonies) for the Fair will be Daire Whelan.  “Daire Whelan is the author of ‘Haunted by Waters: A Journey into the Irish countryside’ chronicling a year spent fly fishing around Ireland and described by the New York Times best-selling author Mark Kurlansky as ‘a joyful book that captures the deep pleasures of the rivers of Ireland’.

His previous books include The Art of Hurling, The Managers, A Year with the Dubs, and Who Stole Our Game.  He was also the ghostwriter of Donal Lenihan’s My Life in Rugby which was shortlisted for Sports Book of the Year at the 2016 Irish Book Awards.
Daire has produced multiple award-winning shows including Off the Ball and he was launch editor of Joe.ie and INM’s podcast network.  He also co-presents the Ireland on the Fly podcast.”
