Michael Whelan

Michael Whelan is from Dungarvan Co. Waterford. He began fishing and fly tying at a young age, his early fishing experiences were on his local rivers fishing for salmon and seatrout.

He then progressed to the river Suir where in the last 40yrs the Suir has become a passion, recently Michael has featured in the Trout and Salmon magazine on the flies and techniques that he fishes on the Suir. 

In the last three winters Michael has taken up Stillwater fly fishing which is quickly becoming another obsession.
