John Maduro

I’ve been fishing since I started walking. I grew up in Aruba a Dutch island in the Caribbean and have been fishing the Salt all my life, but only picked up the Fly Rod when I moved to Ireland 21 years ago and was introduced to this amazing fishing method. Catching my first trout on a Bibio I was hooked for life. I was amazed back then on the work of art these fly patterns and soon after that I knew is something I would love to learn. Wend and got myself my first vise and a Veniard Flytying kit and started practising for countless hours. I fished the rivers for many years but the Salt always calledme back and I decided to give the Saltwater Fly Fishing a try. Once I hooked my first bass on the fly there was no going back from it. From there I started tying Saltwater patterns which now I specialise in these days.

Some of my favourite patterns would be Flat wings and shrimp patterns, I love tying and fishing these as they never let me down.
